We Believe, Teach, and Confess...

Did you know that Lutherans were the first Christians called “Evangelicals”? This was because of their Gospel-focus in Christian faith and life. Lutherans, then, are your original Evangelicals dating from the early 1500s. That Gospel-focus has not changed in five hundred years: We preach “that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself”(2 Cor. 5.19).

At Grace Lutheran Church we believe, teach, and confess that...

  • The Holy is God’s Holy Spirit inspired and infallible word;
  • The loving and holy God of the Bible is the Creator and Sustainer of heaven and earth;
  • God is triune – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;
  • The Son of God, Jesus Christ, was born of the Virgin Mary, crucified for our sins, and raised from the dead for our salvation.
  • We joyfully proclaim that “there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4.35) other than that of Jesus Christ.
  • Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah of God and the Savior of the world who shall come again in the glory of the Father.
  • We believe, teach, and confess that God has given us His blessed Word (The Holy Bible) together with the Sacraments—Baptism, Holy Absolution and the Lord’s Supper—as the means of grace.
  • We believe that God’s Word bestows what it says, because the Lord is the promise-making, promise-keeping God through Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that the heart of Christianity is a redeemed relationship between God and man initiated and sustained by God through the means of grace.
  • We believe that being a Christian involves more than being in Church on Sunday, that indeed, it is a way of life, including individual, family and community responsibilities.
  • If you are looking for a diverse church that takes God at His Word, a church filled with forgiven and joyful people that seeks to share God’s love and redeeming grace, then you have come to the right place!

    A fuller expression of our beliefs can be found in the oldest Christian confession of faith, The (1530), found among the complete set of Lutheran beliefs in The (1580).
